At Shortales we start our puppy socialization training with mild touch and scent stimulation from 3 days old finishing the course at 16 days old. This process was developed by the military to raise stable “bomb proof” service dogs. We use it so you can have a wonder stable addition to your family.
What is Socialization?
Socialization is the process during which the puppy develops relationships with other living beings in its environment. It literally is introducing your puppy to as many different environments as possible. Dogs that are well socialized are happy, secure, confident pets that will readily interact with all types of people. A socialized puppy will easily play with a wide variety of dogs. He is not afraid of most objects and may be cautious about certain things but he does not panic and he recovers quickly if startled.
*Socialization is one of the most important things you can do for your puppy besides feeding him!!!!*

Don't Ever Let your Puppy Experience Fear!!
Avoid this at ALL cost. The best dog will be one who was raised without being exposed to harsh or frightening experiences; one who has learned that you are its' master, life is fair, and there is nothing to fear. When you think your dog is afraid (or becoming afraid) stop and try something different---re-direct---
A happy dog is a good dog!!!!!
